On plate 15, "Running Hounds," the white dog with liver spots looks a great deal like my dog, a German Short-haired Pointer. Would they have "imported" these or is it probably not a picture of my puppy?

Katherine,
pretty sure the German short-haired pointer is a relatively recent breed--late 1800s or early 1900s. But that's not to say that an "ancestor" of the various pointing breeds couldn't resemble a later breeding. that's my guess about what's happening here. Good eye, though!
