"Remember, be nice to the trees..."

Hi everyone,

I found this video on youtube earlier today that I thought relates to Shepard Krech's Ecological Indian: Myth and History. This video was created by www.richiecabohorticulturist.com , a website dedicated to educating to informing people about the dangers of pesticides and chemicals to the environment. I found it interesting that the site chose to use Pocahontas to teach young children about environmental issues. This video clearly shows that there is still a common association between Native Americans and conservation efforts. It supports Krech's claim the idea of the "Ecological Indian" has become the fundamental truth in the American society.

The prevalence of the white stag in our culture


After watching Bambi and seeing the post about the white stag in Harry Potter I realized that there this symbolism for a white stag representing Christianity is prevalent. I never realized that a white stag typically represents Jesus, but it is something that I am now on the lookout for.
